Week One. Done!

Hey GUYS :)

So I completed my first week here at the MTC and wow! It has been quite the experience! So basically from the moment I arrived it was GO GO GO!! Each day is 16 hours and it is so fulllll of things we have to do! I really enjoy my classes, which are in all German and I love that!! I came into the MTC with 3 years of background and a love for the German Language so I started a bit ahead of some of the other new German missionaries. But in just one week, everyone has improved in the language like WAYY more than I did in all my years of German in high school. I know the gift of tongues is a seriously real thing! So far we have already taught four full-length lessons to our first "investigator" Charles in German! During our first lesson, I was able to understand a lot of what Charles was saying and asking but my companion Sister Roach and I were worried coming into the lesson that we just wouldn't have the words adequate to respond to him and help him. But the spirit became so strong in that room and I was able to speak to Charles and have him understand and feel the spirit as well. I know that I could not have been able to accomplish that without the presence of the spirit and the gift of tongues. But along with great moments like that (and when Sister Roach and I sang to Charles "Ich bin ein Kind von Gott" in another lesson and it ended with some powerful testimonies from Sister Roach and I that lead to a bit of tears :)) there has already been some moments when this missionary life gets pretty hard. In our last lesson, we had a really hard time connecting and we took too long and it was pretty disappointing and made us pretty sad. Thankfully Charles is super patient and our teacher is super awesome. He had some pretty comforting words to help us and remind us that that was only our 6th day as a missionary speaking a language we never had to converse in before. Humility is essential here.
So my branch/zone has a pretty great group of missionaries. In our branch there are the Hungarians, Turks, Albanions, ASL, and us(The Germans). I have especially loved being in the same branch as the ASL missionaries and have really come to understand the power of the spirit that is present when they pray. Unfortunately, the ASL missionaries are leaving for their various missions next week :(
I love SUNDAYS!! I think they are going to be my favorite day of the week here at the MTC. It is basically the only time we are allowed to listen to music and we get a lot of it at Church. I even discovered that My companion is an amazing singer so it's very fun to sing next to her! I also looooovvvveee choir! Wow, the director is amazing and so funny and there are probably around 1,000 missionaries in the choir so the music is SO powerful! When we sang at devotional yesterday (after only 1.5 rehearsals) I got some serious chills. It's awesome!
So basically I love the language, I love my companion, I love Sundays, I love teaching(even though its super scary), I love the power of the Holy Ghost, I love my zone and my district and my teacher, I love my Savior and the opportunity I have to represent him and devote all my time to him for the next 1.5 years.

Here's the pics
